After high-school and during college, it is my plan to begin an independent media house, providing services such as:

  • On-site and studio photography
  • Videography and Editing
  • Photographic and video editing
  • DVD or Media Disc Creation
  • Other small media related services

I am beginning to purchase equipment and build up the business now, figuring that it's better to start early, and I need a realistic Mac setup to help me accomplish these things.

I was thinking of a Mac Pro, which seems like the best choice, with maybe 5-10 terabytes of total storage (internal and external) in the long run, but what displays would you recommend? Sizes? Dual screens or single screen? How much RAM would you recommend? Processing speed, etc.?

Thanks!

personal I'd say wait, save up money, then once your in school buy the best Mac out their.

Since Uni hasn't started yet, no need to speed $$ on a Mac you won't need for a while.

Yeah, but I'm looking to start doing business shortly. I'm actually already doing work for some people, and getting more and more clients every month, so I will need to upgrade soon.

So what would you recommend buying now or before the end of the year?
