How do you create a screenshot of things on the macbook pro?

I notice you guys screenshot your specs and other things on ur comps and have wondered how to do a screenshot. its a noob question but i seriously dont know lol.

Thanks.

You can find it in the keyboard shortcuts in the System Prefs

Basically a screen shot I think is command-shift-3
To select an area is command-shift-4
And to select a window is command-shift-4-spacebar

At least I think so...
I am on a PC at work
Edit: and I am too slow too
