LTE seems to be working great here in Dallas/Ft. Worth! On AT&T. Bars have been matching my cellphone for the most part.

So I had an issue where text would not go through at work when I put my phone on airplane mode to test it. Phone calls would go through but took some time. I am guessing that it was trying to use the wifi at work which I don't normally use (and had my phone "forget" months ago).

Other than that I have been impressed.

I've done some testing. I do get a red X for about 30 sec before I get the LTE bars but when going from LTE back to the phone its seamless. Anyone else notice the red X when going from BT to LTE?

So people are actually able to setup the cellular part of their watch? I'm unable do this with my personal Verizon account.

I think it depends on where you purchased it?
i've noticed people are having issues if they ordered from apple directly as opposed to purchasing from the carrier themselves.

I ordered through apple, and setting it up with Verizon was smooth. Going to test out LTE very soon, when I head to get my daughter.

Cellular was a breeze to set up on our two watches, both of which were purchased at an Apple Store today (we didn't preorder).

I also ordered mine through Apple and getting it setup with cellular was pretty painless

I bought from Apple and had no problems setting up LTE with AT&T.

Great looking watch fellow DFWer! :)

I “settled” for the black stainless for now as they didn’t have the silver. Will probably return.

Thanks! Congrats on the black SS it’s a beautiful watch. I do understand if you switch to the traditional ss though. Good luck!!

Its amazing how much this is a hit'n'miss affair. Its the same in the UK where some are reporting a seamless connection but others cant even connect to the plan without an error code

Silly question maybe but do you see the signal dots all the time or just when using LTE?

ATT went well. Make sure you turn off auto join/ask to join and make sure you forget any networks you don't use expecialy ones that needs you to open a webpage to authenticate. People that have connection issues are most likely connecting to wifi spots that the phone was/is connecting to.

As far as battery life I think it will be fine. I went to the gym for an hour and left my phone in the locker. Played downloaded music through the airpods, played with a few apps, checked my heart rate a few times etc and only drained 10% in an hour on LTE. Its designed for when you want to go to the grocery store, run, walk the dog, gym, hike or just forget and leave your phone at home etc. Its not a replacement for the iPhone and not a device to sit around and talk on for an hour. It was liberating not to check the browse the web and read facebook every few mins.

Personally I'm amazed out how well it works with all Apple has crammed into the thing.

How did you get he signal strength dots to appear on the face?

I’m wondering the same thing! I’m guessing it’s only when it’s using LTE. BUT I like the new explorer watch face a lot.

Just the first time the watch transitioned from BT to LTE

Not a silly question. You only see the bars when you are on LTE
