Really stuck on which Mac to get..?

Hi all,
I would really like a Mac to upgrade my Windows laptop.
I am on a tight budget, which makes things a little tricky, especially being in the UK, where Apple products cost more.
Preferably, I would like to stick below the £700 mark. I did consider the refurbished 2011 iMac, but it is a little above my price range.
Please note, I am a student, so I do get the student discounts where available.

My uses are:
Document editing
Web browsing
YouTube watching
Photo editing

Oh, I forgot to mention, I would prefer a desktop solution.
Please, I would love to hear all your suggestions and ideas.

There is no reason for you to get a Mac. A Windows desktop that will perform all of your required tasks perfectly can be had for much less than 700 pounds.

I'd say the entry-model Mac mini but with 4GB or RAM.

Try finding a used 2010 or 2009 notebook or desktop. Otherwise a vaio maybe?

I would say get a mini with 4 GB Ram. We have three of them and they are perfect for what you want. Otherwise try to get a 2010 MacAir 13. Very nice and more than enough. And very portable!

You can get a Mini for £700 no problem, although you can also get a fairly spec'd up Windows PC for that too.
