I have a 2011 macbook and been using realplayer to watch rmvb files. The only issue I can't bear is that when I fast forward/reverse videos, the ball keeps spinning, it usually take 5-10 seconds for it to work again, the response is fairly slow. I wondered if anyone has the same issue and how I can resolve it. By the way, are there other media players which can play rmvb? Thanks.

Real Player is pretty horrible. Most modern players support Real's codecs. VLC will play almost anything straight out of the box, there's also MPlayerX which looks nicer than VLC but has very few features.

Thanks. I use VLC for other media files, it doesn't work very well with rmvb. When I fast forward/reverse, VLC sometimes closed unexpectedly. That's the reason I stick with realplayerSP for rmvb videos.

Edit: Just downloaded MplayerX, it is superb! Thanks!
