With previous versions of iOS and iTunes, usually after the phone synced, any empty slots from deleted apps would get filled. I have deleted a lot of apps that are not compatible with iOS11, but i have more apps that are "hidden" beyond the 16 pages of apps that can be displayed. I would like to go through and get rid of all the obsolete apps but I am unable to.

With app management gone from iTunes, any suggestion on how to get the phone to fill these empty slots with the "hidden" apps beyond the 16 pages. I also seemed to remember that a sync would do something similar in the folders by moving all the apps forward after some were deleted within a folder.

I'll take a look today. I just upgraded to iOS 11 last night... and rearranging all my app icons was an absolute pain in the rear. selecting and dragging them to different pages was so much more difficult than it used to be. I would be so careful to hold my finger steady.. and it woukd slowly flip through several pages... an all of the sudden it would zoom away... and instead of just depositing it in the current page it would go all the way back to where I started. and it kept creating new folders, etc.

I assumed last night that I could just rearrange them more easily in iTunes using mouse... not encouraged by what you said about iTunes app management.
