Rocketing through the sky!
I am currently in the process of downgrading my 1.1.2 touch to 1.1.1.

Is there a reason to go back to 1.1.2? Seems like it's more trouble since apps won't work etc.

Yes? No? Am I on crack?

There was a while there where the 1.1.2 upgrade for jailbroken touches on PPC Macs didn't work and I was very frustrated.

Now it does work and I have updated and no, there's no real difference. I've read people post about Safari being faster or stuff like that but I didn't notice anything. If you want to stay with 1.1.1, stay with 1.1.1.

Oh though, I haven't had any problems with 1.1.2 once I did upgrade ok. Apps etc all fine. Not sure what problems you had?

music doesn't randomly pause when surfing the net...as much (only happened once after a couple weeks on 1.1.2) and yes, it's a little snappier as well

You'll have to re add 3rd party apps, but most if not all settings and info will still be there. For example, once you add Notes again, all your old notes are still there.
