Every day I am on my MacBook Pro for work and still end up using my iPhone for basic things like checking the news even though I could do the same thing on my Mac! It is such a dumb habit, I know! One of the reasons I think is that I constantly "think" of my iPhone to make sure I am seeing all the notification and a fear of "missing" out, which leads to using the iPhone more than I should.

Anyway, this always makes me think ... why does iPhone or iPad not forward Push Notifications (optional before anyone complains!) to Mac just like Text Messages on iMessages? It would be cool to receive a push notification from Instagram on my iPhone and have it pop up in the corner on the MacBook screen like "you got an unread XY on your iPhone".

Speaking off, why does Apple not force developers to sync Notifications in general? I have 2 iPhone and an iPad and it is annoying to clear the Notifications on all devices after I already read it on one device. This seems to only work with Apple apps.

Notifications require the app to be installed or previously allowed via Web app:

Supposedly, Instagram has implemented Web app push notifications. However, as posted on Reddit, there’s no such evidence in Safari, but it does appear to be an option in third-party browsers such as Firefox:

As stated by an Apple Community Specialist:

Regarding the syncing of notifications, this is not something that is synced across iPhones, iPads, iPods, and MacBooks. Instead, each device receives the notification separately and is dismissed separately. You can read more about notifications on your iPhone here:

Use Notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

With that said, there are API methods that allow developers to remotely manage delivered notifications, including removal from Notification Center. Unfortunately, implementation doesn’t appear to be reliable, at least in the past:
