My teenage son has jailbroken his iphone 6s. I would like to know the reasons why iphones are jailbroken. Also I want to install Norton Parental Control on his phone so that I can monitor his usage of the device. He told me that it is not possible to install Norton Parental Control on a jail broken iphone. Kindly let me know if this is so. Also let me know if a Jail broken iphone can to restored to normal state by undoing the jail break process.

Complete modification and tweaks for more functions are the best reason for a jailbreak. Most people who do it, also want to aboid paying for apps.

You can install anything on a jailbroken iphone, that can install on a regular iphone, UNLESS, and not in all cases, if the firmware is too outdated.

Last, a restore will get it all back to normal.

This is why teens need to get a part time job and pay for their own stuff, so their parents can’t spy on their privacy

I don't really need to spy on my 14 year old. He's always prompt to update, has never wanted to jailbreak and his email goes to our phones as well as his.

I'm sure if I demanded he hand over his devices I could find something, but so far he's never given us a reason to violate his privacy.

His sister (10) on the other hand is an entirely different case. We limit her access to devices and services precisely because right now she cannot be responsible with them.

Sounds like solid parenting to me.
:D

He's no angel, but he wants to keep his stuff and not have us poking our nose into things. So he does his best to not give us a reason to do that - because we HAVE taken things away before. :)
