Hello, I have several Apple TVs and usually just use IOS app to control them. I decided to give one away and would like to give it with an Apple TV remote so they can set it up as new. I found one remote that is charged through lighning port, however, can't find device it was paired with. Can I force pair it with one of the Apple TVs? Do they have to be from same model/year? Thanks!

the siri remote will work with both the aTV HD (formally aTV4) and the aTV 4k.
Both versions of the remote, with or without white ring on the menu button, will work with either aTV4

if you have an older aTV 3, the siri remote won't work with that, you need the older silver or white apple remote.

Something off because I already tried above and it did not work. It's a Siri remote, both Apple TVs are aTV4s and remote is also from aTV4 and was charged. How do I know remote is not broken?
