I took advantage of the free iPod nano and printer promotions when I bought my new MBP. Unforunately, I got a computer with the yellow tint problem and I have to send it back for an exchange.
After talking with sales support today, I was told it was OK to cut out the MBP UPC and use it for the rebate even know I am sending the computer back to Apple. But from what I know, the MBP isn't returnable when the UPC is missing. The rep said since I was exchanging, not returning it would not be a problem. I responded that if the new unit had the same problem, I would want to return it for a refund and would not want any problems. He said the new unit would be in a new box so I wouldn't have any problem sending it back for a refund.
I'm not trying to get the rebate and then return the system, but if I wait until the new MBP arrives, it will likely be after the rebate deadline.
Has anyone had any experiences with DOA products and rebate submissions?
