I'm having this weird issue...Happened about 2 weeks ago and just today.

Cable connected to the phone.
Not charging.
Swap cables, swap to a different charger , etc.

However, if I turn off the phone and turn it back on. the original cable/plug combo that was used is just fine and the phone is charging again.

1st time I noticed this was inside the home...so cable *A* with charger *A*
2nd time being today - different cable and different charger...

And both times after doing the baseline of changing to a different cable, charger, etc ....it turns out a phone reboot resolves it.

Would anyone know what I am experiencing here ? Is this a hardware issue or a -software- issue

My money is on dust and dirt in the charge port. I recommend turning the phone off, then using a non-metallic object like a thin wooden or plastic tooth pick to carefully dislodge and pick out the debris. Then blow it out with a few bursts from a can of compressed air, or just blow with your mouth if you don't air handy.

That's can't be it....as why would turning off the phone and turning back on, using the same original cables that was showing the issue now work after a reboot.

I've never seen what appears to be a software issue ? with IOS

If Apple had a software issue such that you had to power cycle the phone to get it charge, the forums would be flooded with posts about it. More likely that your success after doing that was coincidence.
