Hoping someone can advise on this please.
The hard disk in a Mac Mini became corrupted but I used a specialist data recovery company to recover the contents and now have 5 DVDs. When I look at each DVD I can see I have the whole hard disk available - programs, settings and data.

My question - would it be possible to rebuild the machine on brand new hardware simply by copying files off the DVDs into their original location?

What do you think the chances are of a successful build?

Thanks for your advice.

I would just reinstall the OS X and update it to what you want. Then use the same username/password that you were using. Lastly use /Applications/Utilities/Migration Assistant to us this program to import your pictures/videos/music/ and put in the disks when prompted.
