I'm going to be leaving for 3 1/2 months on a study abroad trip aboard a ship. I'm going to be going to a bunch of countries, but will be living on the ship.

I was wondering if anyone could suggest any applications for my new MacBook that may come in handy.

Wether it be travel related, entertainment related, educational related or just about anything, I'm open to all suggestions.

Thanks!

I see no reason why you'll need different apps than anyone else. Try FreeMacAppaDay and ThriftMac for only good apps.

Personally, If I went on a ship, I wouldn't be spending much time on my computer.

Almost all apps I have on my macbook, are either to get movies/music onto my iPod (Handbrake, Transmission, Quicktime Pro and iTunes), edit photos (iPhoto and Aperture), and keep in touch with people (Safari "facebook", Adium,Vent and Skype).

Not assuming you'd spend the entire time on your mac, but if you do, you'll miss out on a great adventure. :)

Good Luck and have a great trip. :)

Since the Internet access on the ship is likely satellite based, I'm sure they have disabled, or at least frown upon, torrent downloading. Save it for port, sailor.

I didn't mean for the ship, I meant for now to prepare himself for the ship.

There's no reason why you would different programs than anyone else haha, as long as you have the internet you can pretty much get anything already.

But, here is a helpful list
