As we know, you can choose several alias's for your MobileMe address to protect your main from spam. Is it possible to choose what alias you get email from on your phone?

Thanks!

Alias is just what it says. All mail gets delivered to your main mobile me address. You do not check your alias's for mail.

How do you make an alias???? I owuld very much like to know how to do this with my MobileMe account!!!

Thank you!!

Just go to me.com and go to your mailbox, click the actions cog at the top, preferences, go to addresses, and you can add aliases from there.

Sure you can, you just have to tap your e-mail address in the from field, and your other e-mail accounts show up if you have them set up, including your aliases.

Thanks for that! Very nice tip! I didn't realize that was a possibility. I will check and see that it works and report back.

After messing around with the alias tonight since I never have bothered before.

I can reply from my alias from my iPhone and it works. When I reply from my iPad to an email sent to my alias it sends it from my main mobile me address. and the alias doesn't show up as an option to reply from in the drop down menu.

Why?

This ability was added in iOS4. So iPad will get it in November. :)

disappointed you can't filter messages on your phone! you'll get annoyed from all sorts of junk which defats the point of alias.. Grrrrrr

Set up a filter... Log into MobileMe, click Mail, click the little gear. Set up a filter so that all mail "addressed to" is moved automatically to a specific folder... no more grrrr.
