Receiving blank messages (no bubble)

Hi, I have an iPhone 4 and I have been receiving blank messages fairly regularly from one of my contacts who also has an iPhone recently.

There's no bubble or notification, just the time stamp and the contact's name. It just suddenly appears at the top of my text inbox.

Has anybody else experienced this problem? Anybody know the actual reason for this bug? And does anyone know of any way to fix it?
