For the past week, I noticed that when I first startup my browser (Firefox and Safari) I get the beachball of death when I type in the url. However, I do not get the "Not Responding" note. It just lags (severely). Also I tried on first startup, when I use Google inbox search, typing also lags (auto suggestion doesn't even work due to the lagging).

Take a look at the video I uploaded (screen recording using Quicktime

On a positive note, this only happens when I first open up the browser. Afterwards, it runs smoothly. I am just so curious as to why it happens like that? This has never been a problem for me.

The macbook I have was purchased in February 2010.
OS version 10.6.8

Thanks in advance.
