Is there any way to hide or prevent newly added Movies and Books from showing up in the Recently added playlist? I'm running iTunes 10.5 on 10.7.2
 
Right click and edit the smart playlist. Add a rule that is "media kind" / "is not" / "movie"

then do the same for books
