Recently bought a 4.3.4 iPhone, should I update?

Well I am receiving an iPhone 4 I bought off eBay with 4.3.4 firmware and its baseband is 4.10.01.

My question is, should I change anything?

Should I update it 4.3.5 then jailbreak/unlock it?
Update to 5.0.1, preserving baseband, then jailbreak/unlock it?
Or keep it how it is?
