When I initially got my iPhone4, it would do the famous drop-reception-while-holding-it thing. I put a case on it & the problem was solved.

However, I'd like to use my Glif without having to take the case off (which is kind of a pain). My question is this...have any of the updates fixed the reception issue (for those that have had an issue)? Is it better now?

I'm curious if anybody has noticed any differences in reception since it first came out (for the better).

It's a hardware issue, software can't fix a design flaw.

I admit I don't know a lot about these things, but there were people saying software might be able to help. Anyway, just wondering.

Apple improved the way signal is displayed, as it was over-reporting the amount of signal a user actually had which was why peoples bars were dropping so rapidly.. It still happens if you hold it in the death grip position. Software can lessen the effects, but you cannot fix a poor design with code changes.. in this case.

Hope this helps! :)
