Reception

Okay -- I am getting poor reception on my 15 inch Powerbook compared to a typical pc.

I am wondering if there is a solution whereby I could be getting poor reception and I could switch easily to one of those third party antennas?

Or is it an all or nothing type of deal...

I assume you mean AirPort? What PowerBook (Aluminum or Titanium)?

ti powerbooks generally have poor reception compared to ibooks

if its an al book could be an issue that you should get serviced

make sure you have all the airport updates.

And for the record, my ti gets better reception than my friend's Toshiba Satelite- w00t

My wife complains of reception problems with her aluminum PowerBook. it works great when she is at the Apple Store. So she thinks that the problem is because we don't have an Extreme Airport Base Station.

It is a 15 inch alum pb 1.25 --- I just cannot stand it when the pcs around me are getting a signal and I am not.
