I have Apple TV connected to HDMI on my TV, ofc. With CEC enabled,BUT my problem is. I can turn on TV and Apple TV with Siri remote but not when i want Apple TV to sleep my TV wont turn off.
I wonder if it would make any difference if i had a Onkyo reciever or similar. Or is the only solution buy a new TV?

Thanks,

Quben

It depends on the CEC version supported, but it should work fine with fairly recent hardware.

I have an Onkyo receiver with Apple TV and Vizio TV.

When I sleep the Apple TV both the receiver and the TV shut off.

I think for you the big question will be "does the receiver shut off the TV?"

If the TV can respond to the receiver's signal it should work. Do you have any friends who could let you borrow their receiver to see if the CEC on the TV will respond?
