takes way too long for verification that makes it useless for day to day continuous use in my opinion

The maker of this app has confirmed that the displayrecorder app ate up a lot of time. It usually takes about 1~2 seconds, he said.

Engadget just did a writeup on this and said that it blows. Too bad.

I do like the fingerprint unlock idea though.

It really is, I like having some security on my phone but it would be nice to have something faster/easier than having to type in a passcode every time I want to use it (even though that takes like 2 seconds).

Well, where is it!? I must have this! Sure it might not be the most secure but, you see, I had a dream about this. No, I wasn't dreaming about my phone. The dream was about a girl and in the dream I opened up my phone this way so I figure that getting this might lead to me getting the girl ;)

Unplug...now. Clearly the internetz has gotten a hold of you in all the wrong ways.

I've tried the app with mixed results. Here's what it recognizes and what it doesn't:

0-40%: It recognizes my face but it also unlocks the iPhone to (pictures of) Charlie Sheen, Jessica Alba, Richard Dean Anderson, Laura Vandervoort, Barack Obama, George Bush, Fredrik Reinfeldt and Amanda Tapping (conclusion: unlocks for everyone).

40-65%: Only unlocks for me, pictures of me, Jessica Alba and George Bush.

65-75%: Unlocks for pictures of me and for me.

80%: SOMETIMES unlocks for me, unlocks for pictures of me.

100%: Doesn't even unlock for the picture of me for which I did a training set. Conclusion: doesn't unlock for anyone.

While the practical uses are very limited, I have to admit that it is a cool tweak. Hopefully future updates will make it better.

Edit: I tried it with my face, one picture of my face and 8 random celebrities.

do you look like G Dubya?

At least you are getting through to the trainer screen. Mine just shuts down. It also shuts down when I go to the Settings and try to change that, again, the app just closes.:(

ermm...did all the necessary steps, and can't get it to work on lockscreen....installed, scanned, set passwd in settings.app, locked phone, unlocked phone, respringed, rebooted, and still nothing..have nothing else running on the lockscreen... on 4.2.1 if that even matters.

even done the training 6/6 steps, set up a password (4 digits, long password), respring, reboot, no icon on

anyone got a solution? tks
