I recently started using Digital Performer 5.13. Within the program I defined some connections to external synths and other gear on a midi timepiece AV-USB.

For example there is a Roland Fantom XR connected at port 1 and a Roland XP-30 connected at port 2. I could later see these connections had been made in Audio MIDI Setup. At the same time DP became "aware" of these instruments default patches and they showed up when selecting patches inside the Digital Performer program.

I also have a Korg TR88 that I connect into the Mac via USB. This unit is also present in Audio MIDI Setup, however, it's default patches do not appear in the DP program.

Is there a way to get OS X to get the default patches for this unit?

Here is the answer.

For synths that OSX doesn't recognize one needs to find the specific .midnam and .middev files.
