I have the latest macbook pro 17" 2.6, and i'm looking to upgrade to 4GB of RAM. The two brands i usually choose from are crucial and corsair. The corsair appears to have better latency. Are there particular brands that work better in the MAC?

OCZ, Crucial, Corsair, Kingston. Tried all and they all are good; I like OCZ best.

gauol,
If you live in Canada Future Shop has a great web only deal on 2GB sticks for $34.99 I ordered two for $75 delivered. Check it out

corsair is king of RAM for me. ive used them for a while now and my uncle who is a computer repairman/builder always always uses them and he never had any problems.

I currently have 2 sticks of Crucial memory in my Powerbook and am very satisfied with it.

Just installed 4GB Crucial in Mac Pro: flawless.

Ditto. I orderred mine from crucial.com last Wednesday and I received it today via UPS delivery - I live in South Africa.

The 4GB upgrade makes a huge difference, I'm extremely happy with my purchase :)

For those of you who have crucials, did you buy the mac line? I have a chance to pick up a 4gb set of the value selects for $60 shipped and was wondering if there was a diff. Thanks

Yup, you need to get the Macbook Pro ram. Don't get value.

Value Select is Corsair, not Crucial.

In our experience there is no difference between the Corsair Value Select and the Corsair Value Select Apple line -- other than Corsair will guarantee compatibility on the VSA and will not on the VS.
