I hope this is the right forum to post this question. If not please move it as appropriate.

The situation:

So my wife is a graphic designer at her company, and uses one of the only Macs in the building. She just got a new boss, who wants her entire team to begin using Outlook calendars so she can keep tabs on their day-to-day schedules. My wife to this point has used iCal for all her appointments. In addition, I do not believe that they have approved the purchase of Outlook for Mac yet, but likely will do it if it will solve the problem. My wife's boss has offered her the use of a company laptop (PC) in order to get setup on Outlook to use the calendar, and I would assume email, but no one would want the hassle of having to constantly use two computers. She obviously can't and won't give up her Mac, and still wants to use iCal if at all possible. Although she doesn't want to have to input her schedule into two computers, or even two separate applications.

1. Is there any way that iCal can be configured on their network to talk to Outlook and share this info to eliminate her having to use Outlook to any degree?

2. If Outlook is required, will it work iCal in some way so that she only has to input data into iCal? Can iCal and Outlook be setup to sync automatically? If it matters, they are on an exchange server at their company.

3. Would the use of BootCamp, or Parallels/VMWare be of any help here?

Would love some good advice if you know of a simple way to get this working.
Thanks!
