Can anyone please recommend a good 7200rpm, 500gb, sata 300 laptop drive that would work in a MBP? Thanks.

I put the seagate 7200.4 in mine and its been running great. Fast, quiet, no problems (knocks on wood)

Thanks. Was it hard to install the drive yourself?
Do you think that the seagate constellation 7200.1 (same size) with the 32 mb cache would be a better performer?

As far as I know those are the two only 7200RPM 500GB 2.5 inch drives.
The Constellation series are for servers as far as I know, never seen any laptop with constellation series HDs.
So the Seagate 7200.4 is your only choice.

The WD Scorpio 640GB is hitting the marked these days.
If you have a recent MBP you might even be able to fit the new 1TB WB Scorpio Blue too (12.5 MM HD, but several reports that 12.5mm does indeed fit the latest unibodies)
