Hi, I am getting a macbook 13" for my wife,

She is pretty small, and would look pretty funny carrying some huge laptop bag in the NY subways, could anybody recommend any good laptop bags that wouldn't look so bulky? or looks like a laptop bag?

I found this bag

http://www.stmbags.com.au/small-loft-specifications.html

but anybody else has recommendations,

I also saw all the sleeves people got, and leaning towards this sleeve

Looks pretty sweet

Where did you get the STM Loft bag? I can't find it sold in New York.

Did you guys get any sleeves or just carry the macbook in the bag?

Are theres any small backpacks that anybody recommends for the macbook? I like the shoulder strap but a backpack would make my back feel more even. i would like it not too bulky, My macbook is coming in 3 days, and I need to buy a bookbag soon.

Thanks

John

Hey John! I'm a petite girl at 5'3". I love my ebags.com for bags, they have great deals and you can choose your laptop and it will show you all the bags it will fit in. I have an ebag brand backpack for my 15" Macbook pro and if fits perfectly in the padded section and it doesn't look like a laptop backpack at all. It is also comfortable and isn't huge on my back.

Mine's not the Loft, it's the Olive colored Small Alley and I bought it at Apple.com when I bought my MB (refurb) last Jan.

I don't see much difference between it and the Loft except the color. In fact they left out some of the specs on the Alley but included them in the Loft like the cellphone/keychain thingy. Anyway...I like it for everyday back-n-forth.

I use a sleeve from www.sfbags.com and then just put my macbook in whatever bag I feel like carrying -- even a canvas tote! Works great! Quality of the sleeves is great, fit perfectly, customizable and the company has great customer service. I have purchased 3 of these (for various computers) and have loved every one. Even gave one as a gift, and the recipient was thrilled!

Check them out!

I have a total of 5 cases, backpacks and briefcases for a 17" Powerbook and a 15" MacBook Pro and I find Incase makes the best cases IMHO.

For the 13" the best one is this one. It's got room for business cards/ cards, pens, slim vanilla folders or documents, an AC adaptor and a mouse.
They make them in several colors; I have the black one.

Hope this helps.

It will be a nice christmas gift for my wife, I am trying to get the best macbook at the cheapest price. Its a double gift for me because I get to use it as well. I always been a PC person, now I get to see what everybody is talking about :)

I just got her:

* black macbook from amazon for $1439 (black friday sale) - $100 rebate = $1339

* 4 Gb Kingston Ram from Buy.com = $96

* Bag

* Sleeve

Do you think I need to get a screen protector? Like one of those big screen things for ipods?

Or a keyboard protector?

Do you guys need anything else? Thank so much for your feedback!
