Recommend a text editor for ipad

Does anyone have a recommendation for an app that lets me type things kinda like TextEdit on the mac thats free ?

Just need an app that lets me write things when am offline the i can just copy and paste it onto forums/blogs etc.

Is there an app like this that would work on all platforms i.e windows, andriod, apple ?

Would be handy to write something out offline on the ipad then sync it when online to able to pick it up on my mac or windows laptop .

I use plain .txt files stored on Dropbox as a cross-platform note system.I work on a variety of different platforms and so I've discovered apps for each platform that interact with the same set of .txt files:

iOS : Notesy / PlainText / WriteRoom
OSX: nvAlt / Notational Velocity
Windows: ResophNotes
Windows RT: Dropbox + CodeWriter
Android: Epistle / Notational Acceleration

Why not notes? I use it a lot and can do sync between mac notes/iphone/ipad. I used to enable gmail notes in the account settings so whatever I note I see them synced on all my devices. But also u can use icloud just I use more my gmail account..
