I got a 13 base air, and wanna know which games are playable and enjoyable.
Comments what you are playing with...

Trine is excellent, but ye'll be wanting a mouse for the thief and the wizard!

Also, Braid is a work of art. A modern day Super Mario with a really interesting twist.

There are some excellent games on the Mac app store that play great and you won't be obsessing about frame rates.

Jolly Rodger
Evac
Trine
Angry Birds
Braid
Anomaly
Machinarium
Plants v Zombies
Secret of Monkey Island
Penny Arcade : Preciples of Darkness
Peggle
Luxor
U-Boot
Chopper 2
And Yet It Moves
Osmos
Amnesia

There are so many excellent games on there, often cheaper than Steam and all will play nicely with your MBA hardware - as long as your not obsessed with playing the latest AAA Big Publisher title.

Civilization V is a great call. Also, Call of Duty 4, Plants vs Zombies, Rome: Total War (why has nobody mentioned this great game?! ;)), Angry Birds. I also think X Plane looks great on the high resolution MBA screens. :D

The humble bundle
A friend of mine linked me this interesting offer, you can pay what ever your want (Above 1 penny), it contains some non-heavy games that is playable on mac :) Ive bought it, and every thing works :D Running the games through steam.

I've heard Anno 1404 is supposed to work fine on a MBA, since it requires rather CPU than GPU power.

It's a great strategy game, don't know if you like them ;)

Hello

Does any of you have problems when playing games on your MBA? I know a guy who told me that if I planned on playing games on my mac, I should get the MBP in stead...is that also true now that the new MBA are out?

I'm not gonna play Call of Duty or something like that, but Civilisation I would like to...

I'm just afraid the graphic, speed etc. won't be as good, if I go for the MBA (13')...

The MBA 13" will have the same performance in games as the MBP 13", since they both have intel HD3000. However the 15" and 17" MBPs have a discrete AMD GPU which will greatly improve game performance.

not a gaming machine...

but i really like to game on it. civ5 and europa universalis.
the 2010 machine is faster for gaming because of the dedicated graphics card.
better framerate.....

I was disappointed how poorly tf2 played. It's such an old game. Portal too. Both had pretty big hiccups. So I'd think those playing cod or portal 2 have pretty low graphics standards.

Tue link above doesn't manage to even cite the correct processor.

Sure I can run around an empty world in tf2 and get 50 fps. But once the fighting starts it drops drastically. Same with the original portal. Projectiles start and things get bad.

Ah, ANNO! - Nostalgic, back when I was a 5 year old boy I used to play Anno 1602, the times I had - albeit it would have been easier if someone had actually told me that getting more inhabitants was what released new tech, but I figured that out eventually.

I'll definately download ANNO for my MBA then :)

I played Portal 2 on a 2010 MBA - it was fine.
