Had a Canon inkjet AIO that just quit printing on me. My guess, printer head clogged or dried up. Yes, I went through the cleaning routines and even replaced the cartridges and still wouldn't print. It was a couple of years old. Decided that with my limited use I would go with a laser AIO. Didn't really need color so that opened up some inexpensive options. Was looking at a Canon but after reading that you had to have the paper tray open for it to print I took that off the list. I too wanted a printer that had airprint. Settled on a Brother laser printer HL-L2395. Could not find it anywhere local: Staples; Best Buy; or Office Depot. Their shelves were bare hey couldn't say when or if they would get any in so I went on line. Finally found one at Adorama. The local BB stores were selling this for $199 plus tax. Adorama had it $229 plus tax with free shipping. I did check Amazon but at the time they didn't have any, now they do at $215.88 with free shipping. Anyway, UPS delivered it. Unpacked it, set up wifi. Done. Airprint from my Macbook Air M1 worked like a champ. I've only printed a couple of things and the quality looks good. It's a tall printer with a regular sized footprint. Holds a lot of paper. Does duplex printing. Haven't scanned anything yet but a read a criticism that scans were not very detailed. The poster didn't say what dpi setting was. Anyway, I'm happy. Check it out and come back and tell us what you decided on.
