Hi:

I’d previously been using a lower end Jabra earpiece with no problems whatsoever with my iPhone 6 Plus. However, after I upgraded to the iPhone X last year, the Jabra began experiencing issues with the phone, most commonly losing the Bluetooth connection in the middle of a call. Given that it worked perfectly before I change phones, I can’t figure out whether the issue is with the headset or the iPhone X.

But I’ve decided to buy a new headset, one that hopefully others have used with an iPhone X without experiencing connectivity issues. Can anyone hear give me some recommendations on a good headset to buy that works well with this phone? I’ve read the reviews of all the usual suspects at various sites like Amazon, but it seems that, no matter how well reviewed a given headset generally is, I see a lot of complaints about connectivity in the more recent reviews – but the reviewers don’t mention what phone they’re using the headset with. So I’m still at a loss as to which headsets have proven to play well with the iPhone X, and I’d really like some recommendations from this group as to good models to look at for use with the iPhone X.

This headset will be used strictly for work related phone calls while I am at home or on the go – not looking for something to listen to music, etc.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

I’ve found AirPods work really well for on the go type stuff. And they connect pretty effortlessly. But I’ve only used those an Jaybird freedoms which are okay.

Check out the Plantronics Voyager headsets. They pair quickly and reliably and have good microphones and technology for filtering out unwanted sounds (wind, mostly) so you sound better to your callers. They also have some convenient docks — for example, I use mine with a desktop dock that the headset pops into magnetically.

Or, if your usage is more occasional, the Apple AirPods work surprisingly well for this purpose. The Bluetooth paring is extremely easy and reliable with these, and my callers say I sound fine. I have only used these for calls in a quiet room, though; I doubt they would work as well as the Plantronics if I were in a windy environment.

Airpods.

Plenty of threads here full of praise of them. They handle phone calls nicely & can be used one at a time whilst the other one charges in the case.

I’ve tried plenty, and while I use other headphones for exercising / gym stuff, I find the AirPods are the best for work.

Super easy to switch between devices (sometimes I’ll take calls from my iPhone X, sometimes via VOIP from my Macbook - easy to switch back and forth as needed).

I've gone through 2 pair of Plantronics Backbeat fits, my wife uses Jaybirds, and I've tried a couple of off-brand bluetooth headsets. Once I got and started using AirPods, I don't need any of the rest. They aren't magical, and I've had a few connection issues, but nothing like the other bluetooth headsets, and I felt like the others worked pretty well. AirPods just work better overall.

This are the recommendation for your requirement which may suit your need.
Although, Airpod is a much-recommended option available.

Another endorsement for the AirPods here. I mostly use mine for music but on the few occasions I have taken calls with them in, they sound great and I've never had any complaints about how I sound on the other end.

To follow up on my Airpods recommendation...

For my work, I had to be on the phone (from Australia, to India) for at least 5-6 hours a day & the Airpods passed with flying colours.

My work environment contained a bit of background noise too (fans blaring) but the person on the other end still heard me very clearly.

Keep in mind the language barrier too, along with the background noise, so I was very impressed with the clarity of the microphone & earbuds.

Thanks all.. I actually took the advice in the initial response and orderered the Plantronics Voyager Legend. I’ve been traveling this week and the Legend was sent to my home, so I haven’t tried it yet.

BUT - as luck would have it - I am traveling to celebrate my 50th birthday and my girlfriend just surprised me with a pair of AirPods (she knew nothing about this thread). So now I have TWO new toys to play with and compare. Thank you all for your help and suggestions.
