Since the iPhone 3G requires a different car charger than the previous model and iPods, how about a sticky thread for 12V chargers that are known to work with the 3G.
 
Griffin's new PowerJolt (the black one) definitely works like a charm. For my dying cigarette lighter port, its long and thin form factor does a great job of staying in place. Supposedly, you can actually plug any USB device into it, so it could potentialy serve as a universal USB charger (I may try plugging in my PS3 controller and iPod Shuffle). Also, if you wanted to get a USB/lineout cable, you could use this for the charger.
