I am going to need a new bag for work. So I need it to be professional looking and want to carry both my MBP 15" and ipad in it. What recommendations do you guys have which are nice looking and durable?

Any pics also would be great if you have one that you use for the same reasons.

Here is the one I use from Speck. It is the CorePack Fly model. It unfolds for going through airport security so you don't have to remove your laptop. I picked it up fro MicroCenter for around $70 and I love it. It has a dedicated laptop area that is padded well. Plenty of room in the front for an iPad and more. When I go out with mine It holds my MacBook Pro, iPad, Magic Mouse, iPad and MacBook Pro chargers, a couple mini Display adapters, Apple wireless keyboard, headphones, iPod, a few magazines and anything else I need.

Yea but not very professional looking. Want something more leather, etc.

I am curious why you would carry both... I usually leave my MacBook Pro at home and connect to it if needed via LogMeIn using my iPad. Off topic, I know. Ignore if you wish to.

Messenger type.

Buy a sleeve-case for your MacBook Pro and get a case for your iPad and then just jam them in whatever briefcase or messenger bag you would like. I cannot throw a rock without hitting someone carrying a Kenneth Cole briefcase in downtown Manhattan. They seem to be at the price-point that is not outrageous, they look decent and seem to hold up as well as a sub-$600 bag is going to hold up.

Or, you could go for something a bit more flashy, like:

I am a big fan of simply buying the bag that you like and then a sleeve for the computer. It will not advertise that you are carrying a computer and still provide protection. I like my Timbuk2 bags since they are inconspicuous.

Might have to go that route. Thanks for the idea.

messenger bag? Timbuk2 or bust.

I have one and it has withstood torrential downpours and not a drop of rain has gotten inside the bag.
