I've just cranked up my ethernet home network. I'm looking to add a 1TB HDD (or maybe a 2TB depending on cost) to that network - connected directly to the main router - and I was looking for recommendations.
I plant to start ripping Blu Ray disks to my iMac, and I'm going to want the extra storage as I will have two copies of each - one in 720p for my Apple TV and one in iPhone resolution. I'm not going to use up 1TB any time soon but, between music and movies, it's going to fill up my iMac's HDD sooner rather than later.
Alternatively, I already have a 1TB Time Capsule. Does it make more sense to invest in a 2TB Time Capsule and use the old one as the network HDD, which can then be backed up by the new TC?
Would appreciate any comments / suggestions.
