I'm planning to purchase a new bluetooth mouse soon but the mice I'm looking at require Bluetooth 4.0, which my Mac doesn't have, so I'm planning to purchase a Bluetooth 4.0 USB adapter too. I've seen a few posts online from people who bought these adapters and found using the mouse when connected to the Bluetooth adapter was slow/laggy though.

Is anybody using a USB Bluetooth adapter with a mouse who can recommend which adapter I should buy, please?

I have a mouse that says it's Bluetooth 3, but it works fine with my Mac that has Bluetooth 6.

I think you're a little lost there - Bluetooth 6 doesn't exist yet, Bluetooth 5.0 is the most current version :) going by your signature if you're referring to your MacBook Pro (2013) you actually have Bluetooth 4.0, which is backwards compatible with devices using earlier versions - unless you're using a Bluetooth adapter, in which case I'd love to know which one you purchased?

Both showing Bluetooth v6 installed. Or am I missing something?

And no, I'm not using a Bluetooth adapter, just this mouse:

Ah sorry - I'd say that's version 6 of Apple's Bluetooth driver. "Bluetooth 5.0" refers to the hardware spec, or the 'HCI version' in the macOS System Report.
