Hello all,

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro and would like to pair it with a Thunderbolt 3 compatible external display. Not looking for anything bigger than 23-27-inches, and I don't need to support gaming or video editing. I will mostly be wrangling text in a text editor on it.

LG UltraFine 4K and 5K seem like overkill, but I'm not opposed to either if they have the best Thunderbolt 3 experience with Apple hardware.

Thanks in advance!

An inexpensive USB-C to Displayport or HDMI would open up a world of more affordable monitors. Such a dongle is US$10-ish from places like monoprice. Then, look at Dell, ASUS, Samsung, and so on. Sometimes there is even a cable with USB-C on one end and something like HDMI or DisplayPort on the other.
