Hey fellas,

Recently purchased a base model of the RMBP, and need an external hard drive to hold all my music/movies on.

Are there any decent ones out there currently for a reasonable price, or would I be better going the USB 3 route?

Thanks for any suggestions!

if you don't want to spring for a MyBook Thunderbolt Duo ($590 on amazon for 6TB), the best single drive ones you could go for is this:

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex USB 3.0 3TB drive from Costco $129
Seagate Thunderbolt Desktop adapter $189 from Apple Store
Thunderbolt cable from Apple if you don't already have one

Put it all together and voila, Thunderbolt speeds!

Or if you want, you could just use the USB 3.0 if you want and skip the Thunderbolt part (which costs more than the drive itself...)

Pretty sure the Seagate Freeagent isn't $129 at costco. Thought I saw it for listed at $139 for costco somewhere recently.

I know the 1TB version of this drive is on sale for $83

Has there been a external enclosure for thunderbolt released yet? Seems like it would be a pretty cool thing!
