I just bought the 10.5 and was looking at Zagg protectors because that was the brand I put on my old 3rd Generation. Not really sure if it actually made a difference with the screen in terms of colors, ect. since I had it done right after I left the Apple store, but considering that kind of thing now as I look for one for my pro.

Are the expensive Zagg Invisibleshield Glass+ or HDx worth getting? Do they reflect too much? Is there another brand that's better?

This is what I use. It is a matte finish. It comes in a set of three. This is the 10.5 version. I have the 12.9 version. Note: I also have another plastic screen protector on top that came with my verizon hardcase, but when i remove this top piece, the supershieldz is matte and definitely tames the reflective property of the ipad glass. I chose this because it comes with three. I only used one.

I followed this guys application technique.

How much does it change the quality of the images? Are they easy to remove?

Unfortunately, I can’t give you a definitive response to the image quality right now because I applied it right after taking my ipad put of the box. All I can say is that the image looks like what I would expect. Honestly as I’m typing on my ipad, I don’t even realize that there’s a screen protector. It doesn’t really do any distortion to the image whatsoever. All it does is minimize the glare.

What part or component of an image are you concerned about? A matte screen protector itself will reduce screen glare and thus the image but by how much, probably not a lot.

I can however head down to best buy and do a side by side comparison with their naked 12.9 to my matte 12.9 later on in the week and report back.

Stays put, but just like any other screen protector, easy to remove when you want to remove it. And stays on if you don’t.

I did plenty of research prior to getting the screen protector. You’ve got both negative and positives for any screen protector out there. I chose supershieldz because it was the most cost effective (comes in 3 pack) and the reviews basically aligned with the icarez and ther other popular one. I never applied a screen protector before.

Don't decide on a screen protector just yet. I'm going to upload some pictures of my ipad with the matte screen protector vs the best ipad 12.9 without any screen protector whatsoever tonight. Just got back from best buys. It'll give you a better idea of the "differences."

Thank you! The entire process of shopping from screen protectors is way too complicated. Kind of tempted to find a Zagg kiosk and let them deal with it like I did with my first ipad...

I guess there is a noticeable subtle difference. Both are at the maximum brightness. Do take note that all matte screen protector will "soften" the color somewhat. But the same company also manufactures standard screen protector without the matte finish.

All photos taken with my ipad 4 retina camera.

I may give either their clear screen protector or the one by Anker a try.

I just put the Anker on my 10.5 and I'm real happy with it. This was my second one - I screwed up my initial installation, getting a hair underneath the protector, and ruined it of course. Anker contacted me on a follow-up, asking if I would leave a product review. I said I really couldn’t, given that I had botched the install through no fault of the product. They immediately offered to send me a new one, at no cost, going above and beyond normal expectations. The new one went on just fine. I have bought other Anker products and have really been happy with the quality; now I can also attest to their excellent customer service.

I'm just a bit wary of them because when I put their Amazon product page through a fake review detector, it got a really bad rating.

All I can say is that I've bought 11 of their products - this protector, battery banks, chargers, a Bluetooth keyboard, and USB hubs - and I've been real happy with them and they certainly covered me on this buy.

I prefer a tempered glass screen protector, also I prefer gloss over matte. The iPad Pro’s glass screen has built into it anti-reflectivity properties. I don’t bother with expensive screen protectors, so I just buy the 2-pack AmFilm glass protector on Amazon. I’ve used the same brand for the 3 years I had the Air2 without any problems such as lifting or bubbling.

The "anti-reflective" property may be true, but it's still not quite there. I can still see plenty of reflective glare both indoors and outdoors, and of course outdoors being worst.
