Recommendations for note taking app with direct (not cloud) syncing

Just got my iPad 2 and looking for suggestions on note taking apps that sync directly with the Mac. I can't use any type of cloud service (company policy) - so Evernote, Google docs, drop box, etc. are all out.

I use PersonalBrain to store everything on the computer, so all I need is a simple mac app where I can copy the text from, and then paste into PB.

Suggestions?
