Recommendations for Pulse News app replacement

I did a clean install on my new 6+ and find that Pulse News, my favorite news aggregator, now requires a Linked In sign up. I'm not interested in doing that and am looking for a news app that works in a similar way and lets me customize/add news feeds which feed by source like Pulse. Any suggestions?

I am more than a little sick of having Facebook and Linked In shoved down my throat in so many situations! I will try Flipboard although I remember way back preferring Pulse's setup. Thanks.
