Recommendations on an external RAID1 hard drive

I'm looking for an external hard drive (well, it would be 2 hard drives) that are setup as RAID1 mirroring. Right now I have a NewerTech Guardian Max or something like that, but I need more storage. I'd prefer something besides the Guardian because it is LOUD (not the hard drives, but the fans are) so something fanless, or at least quieter, would be great. I've been looking at the Drobo, which is quite tempting, but it'll cost me almost a thousand bucks by the time I buy the Drobo and a couple hard drives.
