I just got a new MacPro, and I'm wondering what utilities are considered the best for 10.4.7 in terms of functionality and compatability.

I have heard that the Norton utilities have issues, but that the anti-virus is ok. I have tended to use DiskWarrior for defrag and HD related activities.

I don't have an Intelmac myself, but I'm pretty sure that this can of worms has been opened one too many times.

I saw that link, but I'm not interested in "cute" mini apps, free software, FTP apps, or C++ compilers. I'm simply trying to find out what the core "must have" utilities are for my new mac. Is that out of line? I don't understand the frustration/attitude.
