Hi all,
Quite simply, I think I've discovered that my LaCie d2 Quadra is about to die. It's whirring and clicking and won't mount.
I've explored other forums and uncovered the power adapter problem, but I've had that tested today and it seems fine.
It's under warranty, so I've raised a ticket with LaCie customer services, but I'm under the impression that while they may repair the external drive, they won't be liable for any data that gets lost while doing that repair. Hmmm.
So, I want to find a reputable firm that will - hopefully - be able to save me the heartache/headache of losing all my precious data. All photos of my one year old daughter - including her birth - are on that thing.
I live in Brighton, UK. Ideally it would be a local firm, but I'm not against the idea of posting it off, so long as they are a reputable organisation.
Oh, and constructive comments only please. Clearly I realise I needed a back up of my back up. There's an unopened LaCie D2 Quadra 1TB sitting next to me. I was literally in the process of unboxing it when the first external bit the dust.
