I will check for prices and availability at a variety of sites.
Displays, from laptopscreen.com -- they tend to have "everything", and gives a good start for price range. Then I check at newegg.com (just another choice, usually too high, but good quality), then ifixit (less likely to be in stock, but good quality)
I also search other types of parts at both newegg.com and iFixit.com -- sometimes those turn out the best for value and shipping time.
Then, I most often end at Amazon, where I will often look for an Amazon vendor with the highest number of orders for whatever I might be looking for.
That routine has worked well for me, although, I am admittedly a small sample size...
(I have recently had a big uptick (for me) in people asking about replacing broken LCDs, usually on school-at-home laptops. Most get scared off by the cost of replacing an LCD.
