From personal experiences, what is everyone's rec's for a scanner? I'm only interested in scanning in pictures. I would like something that:

a) Scans well
b) Looks nice (something "MACish" would be nice
c) Preferably doesn't have a company specific software that is needed
d) Is small

Any ideas?

Thanks

Josh

I have two Canon scanners that I like very much. They are the LiDE series -- 35 and 60. Great scans! I use Photoshop Elements to scan with them, but you could use Image Capture or VueScan as well, depending on you personal preferences.

Thanks... I was under the impression that I HAD to use the Canon Included Software with the Lide's ? Not the case?

You can expect Canon's driver to probably be better than third-party drivers. However, Image Capture with the Canon driver is far better in my experience than say Photoshop Elements or any other non-Apple software and Canon's TWAIN plug-in. Go ahead and install Canon's software. Fire-up Image Capture and do a scan. Then use any other TWAIN-compatible app and do a TWAIN scan. Note the difference.
