Recommended subtitle settings for ATV?

I would like subtitles that are easy to read and non-distracting font for a 55" TV. There are so many settings that it's a bit confusing. Does anyone have any recommendations in regards to font, background shadow etc?

Also would these subtitles be consistent through iTunes movies, Netflix, Amazon Prime etc? Or do different apps force their own style of subs?
