Recommended Webcam / Microphone for 2018 MBA

I need a webcam and microphone for to use when my MBA is in clamshell mode.

Right now, I can't use the microphone in this state due to the new hardware disconnect.

I tried the Logitech HD Pro Webcam c920 and it does not seem to be compatible

Can anyone suggest a solid webcam / mic option that has been tested on the new Macbook Air?

Topping this. I am still stumped on how you are supposed to do audio conferencing with this macbook while in clamshell mode. The hardware disconnect of the mic even limits use of the mic in games when in clamshell.

Has anyone found and tested a product that allows the new MBA to pull in audio while in clamshell? Video is a bonus!

Last try. Seriously, has no one figured out a hardware that will work when operating the new Macbook Air 2018 in clamshell mode? My pal suggested AirPods. Can anyone confirm those work when the 2018 MBA is in clamshell?

Have you tried this on the 2018 MBA with success? I tried two of those and it didn't work with either.

I don't even know if I tried it in non-clamshell mode. Because that is what iSight and the laptop's mic are for. The problem I'm trying to address is the "feature" of having the mic cut out when the laptop is closed.

I am all for security measures and privacy but I genuinely do not think Apple has a set of recommended products to handle docked 2018 MBAs.

If you could have your friend do a test and explain how it works, I'd appreciate it. The device you linked (and I linked in my original post) did not work for me.
