Anyone think the next MBP will have a digital keyboard like the iPad? so 2 screens, bottom screen being the keyboard and multi-touch trackpad?

Could still use a normal keyboard through bluetooth ect...

Im hoping so!

I like tactile feedback for fast and blind typing. I can't type while looking at the screen or any other thing in a touch screen. At least not yet.

Why would they do that?
Why would a touchscreen keyboard be more effective as a normal one?

The keyboard is here to stay until they perfect the brain to computer interface - which they're working on right now.

In the meantime, girls with small hands and narrow fingers with be superior to any of us male types.

That would definitely deter me from buying...I highly doubt they'd make a move that drastic.

Now a half-imac-half-ipad touchscreen desktop-thingy I could see.

I think I remember seeing a patent on PatentlyApple (I think) where Apple was looking at haptic feedback on a glass surface. I believe the surface would rise slightly to give the feel of a keyboard while still remaining "smooth".

For me that would be terrible I think, but it is something that could happen one day.

Why not go virtual?

Not a chance.

The Macbook Pro and OS X will never evolve in such a way. Instead they will retain the same elements and become a niche for professionals. iOS and iPad derivatives will then take over fulfilling the needs of the everyday consumer.
