Record 1080p?

I've read that the actual camera in the iPhone4 is capable of 1080p at 30fps and 720p at 60fps, and that the the software has limited it to use only 720p at 30fps. It is likely that Apple is being conservative so that there aren't any dropped frames or maxing out of the CPU.

I wonder if it's possible for anyone to try and hack in 1080p/30 or 1080p/24 support for the camera. Has anyone tried this?

I haven't heard this yet. While it would be cool, I doubt the hardware is capable of 1080p.

The ip4 camera takes stills that exceed the 1080p hd resolution but I highly doubt that it can record 1080p at 30fps without lagging alot!
